Our recent undertaking involved the meticulous planning and execution of a dropped kerb installation, a critical enhancement designed to facilitate convenient on-street parking for a valued client. The initiative stemmed from a recognised need for improved accessibility and ease of parking, addressing common concerns among property owners about the safety and convenience of accessing their premises.
The Dropped Kerb Project entailed a comprehensive repositioning of kerbs, seamlessly integrating with Plymouth Highways’ directives. Our expert team embarked on the task with precision, removing old kerbs to make way for the new, professionally installed dropped kerbs. This pivotal step was complemented by the application of a robust new sub-base of 803 stone, ensuring long-term durability and resilience.
Moreover, the project included the meticulous laying of a 70mm wearing course, comprising 20mm aggregate, topped with a 30mm layer of 6mm dense hardstone. This careful selection of materials guarantees a smooth, durable surface capable of withstanding the rigours of daily use. The installation of new back edging further fortified the structural integrity of the kerb, enhancing its aesthetic appeal and functional efficiency.
